Dr. Sam Dreeben is the Associate Director for Research at the Soaring Spirits Resilience Center at Schreiner University and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. Dr. Dreeben received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Louisville and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in palliative care psychology through UT Health Science Center-San Antonio & the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System. Dr. Dreeben is a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas. He previously served as a VA psychologist specializing in end-of-life and bereavement care for patients, their spouses, and extended families. Dr. Dreeben’s research interests include assessment design, resiliency and spousal bereavement, anxiety and transitions of care, mindful body awareness, and the relationship between positive dispositional factors and physiological and psychological correlates of stress.
