Angeline joined Soaring Spirits as the Deputy Director in 2022 and brings legal, nonprofit, and grief support expertise to every aspect of program development and execution. She lost eight close family members between 2016-2020, including both her parents and what would have been her second child seven months apart. These losses inspired Angeline to leave her decade-long public interest legal career, where she served in several program management, policy, and nonprofit executive level positions, to become an interfaith hospital chaplain. Serving as a chaplain in a level one trauma center puts Angeline face-to-face with the moment a person crosses the devastating threshold into widowhood again and again. While she is honored to provide compassionate and empathetic care at this critical crisis moment, Angeline is passionate about doing more to create a culture where every griever enters a world that was built for them. Through walking herself and hundreds of others through the worst moments of their lives, Angeline has come to believe deeply in the power of hope, resilience, and healing through community. When not supporting her Soaring Spirits colleagues and the widowed community, you can find Angeline sweating it out at hot yoga, listening to her ever-growing lists of audiobooks, or traveling near and far with her husband Stephan and son Xavier.
