My husband/partner and I own and operate of the Junkyard Café in Simi Valley. I have the joy of being the mother of three daughters and grandmother to the amazing Charlie (1yr). I am the former president of Ventura County friends of Tibet, a Rotarian, and Chef. I am also a Graduate of the Design Tech Institute and studied the complete program at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), New York.
My hobbies include playing the Ukulele, bee keeping, welding, and entertaining. Growing up in Huntington Beach provided for the love of the coast where I now regularly camp in my office (motorhome) and create my ever-evolving immense menus by hand.
Being a widow myself is what makes being a part of Soaring Spirits so important, knowing firsthand how isolating widowhood can be. SSI provides a haven of like minds and amazing resources for the widowed community. It’s a place where light shines on the hope of the future. It is so exciting to see the lives that are changed and the resilience that is revealed because of the work being done. It is a complete honor to be a small part of it all.
