Dr. Mike Rodriguez is the Clinical Director for Dos Arboles Psychological Services in Ventura, CA. He has extensive public service experience, recently retiring from a leadership role with Ventura County Behavioral Health. Dr. Mike is considered the county’s expert in forensic risk assessment and spent the past eight years as Head of Services for the Ventura Adult Clinic (1000 patients), the Older Adults Program (100 patients), the Forensic Services Team, and the Client Benefits team. Dr. Mike started out as a youth minister in Southern California and coached various sports teams along the way. While completing his graduate coursework, Dr. Mike worked as a crisis clinician in the Bay Area before transitioning into a lead role as the intake clinician for an inpatient psychiatric unit. Once his doctorate work was complete, Dr. Mike completed his post-graduate training as a clinical psychologist for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, leaving that post in 2017 as a senior supervising psychologist. He has always been an avid volunteer and has developed countless youth camps over the years. Dr. Mike was excited to be asked to develop and direct the first Camp Widow Kids in San Diego, which has grown in popularity and remains a community-building event for young people who have lost a parent. He embodies a community-building and service-centered approach that often draws many people together from a diverse range of populations.
