As cycling events all over the state of California have been cancelled or postponed, we’ve held onto our goal of holding a safe in-person ride hoping that the late fall timing of our event would allow us to move forward with the Share the Road Ride as scheduled.
Unfortunately, as cases of COVID-19 have risen in California, and restrictions to enhance safety measures have been extended, it has become clear that safely holding an in-person ride for 2020 would sadly not be possible.
Since our first ride, we’ve developed a team of cyclists and supporters who are dedicated to providing the BEST ride in Ventura County. In a normal year, we offer five awesome ride courses with superb rider support throughout the event. We love cyclists and we show our love through a ride like no other!
Though we will not be able to meet in-person this September, your Share the Road Ride team is not willing to forfeit our ride altogether. We are excited to announce that the 2020 Share the Road Ride will be going virtual for the first time in our history!
Together we can continue our ride continuity and highlight the mission of our ride which is to raise awareness about the need to safely share the road with all road users. Knowing that there are more cyclists out on the road due to the closing of gyms and other group activities, our message is more important than ever.
