This event is being hosted by Grace Villafuerte in honor of her late partner, Lynn Campanario! Held as a precursor to the 4th annual fundraiser for Lynn, this event will include a Book Reading by Author and Creator of Camp Widow, Michele Neff Hernandez.

After losing her 39 year old husband, Phillip, in a cycling accident in 2005, Michele founded the non-profit, Soaring Spirits International in 2008, which has served over four million widowed people (and counting!) through a variety of grief support programs – including Camp Widow. She has received numerous awards, including being selected as a 2021 CNN Hero and acknowledgement by Vice President Joe Biden. Michele’s book, Different after You, was released in 2022, and presents easy-to-digest steps based on her work with thousands of widowed people and her innovative grief support programs. Through this process, anyone who has experienced life-altering trauma will discover a map for grieving what they’ve lost, identifying what they’ve gained, and learning to embrace the person they’ve become. Michele will read from her book, and be available for discussion and signing after.

This event will be held at a private home OUTDOORS. There WILL be shade, but it may be a warm day outside. Cool drinks and yummy treats will be provided, and the address will be supplied in your confirmation email after registration.

This book reading will be followed by the 4th Annual “Cowgirl Up” Party in honor of Lynn, a free event from 1-5pm! Also benefiting Soaring Spirits, this backyard party will have Live Entertainment, a Silent Auction, Food, Drinks, Games, and More! Kids welcome!
